Gmail users report missing email, attachments, chat records

It was Google Calendar last week, today it's Gmail's turn. Is it a minor bump or signs of crack in Google's cloud-based services? Whatever it is, a bug has severely affected Gmail users -- as many as 150,000 Gmail accounts -- with missing emails, attachments and no chat records.

As with Calendar, Google doesn't have a detailed explanation for the Gmail bug affecting "0.08%" of Gmail's user base.

Google engineers are working to restore full access to Gmail, Google said. "Affected users may be temporarily unable to sign in while we repair their [Gmail] accounts."
